ATI Procharger

I just bought a 2001 Trans Am w/ a procharger...not sure which model. I was wondering what I can do to figure out which model it is and once I do that, what do I need to do to maintain it.

I just bought the car yesterday and the dealer didn't know his a$$ from his elbow, and by law he cannot give me the previous owner's phone number. Any help???

Thanks
Mike

Re: ATI Procharger

there should be a number on the head unit that would tell you what you need to know. If it is non-self contained (oil pan is tapped) then it is a P600b.

Re: ATI Procharger

I think the D1 is a popular LS1 charger, but Im not sure. if its self contained, itll be a D1SC or a P1SC

Re: ATI Procharger

Considering that ProCharger never made a kit to put anything other than a self-contained blower on an LS1, I would say it's a pretty safe bet that it's either a P1SC-1 or D1SC.

Re: ATI Procharger

there should be a blue tag somewhere on the head unit that says what model it is.

Re: ATI Procharger

The blue tag will be on the top of the head unit if you look down from the driver side just behind the radiator, you'll probably need a flashlight.

Does it have the twin intercoolers under the fenders?

All LS1 F-bodies with the ATI kit will have the twin intercoolers...that's all they come with.

Re: ATI Procharger

If you have a D1SC you should change your screenname to something that exudes more confidence.

Yea man having the d1sc will save you from having to send your p1sc to ATI to get it upgraded when you want to make bigger boost!

Looking to change screename...just don't know how...

Also, what do I need to know about this blower...(new to superchargers). What do I do to maintain this awesome thing? What modifications (besides the previous owner's mystery mods that I don't have details on) would blend well with this set up?
