boosted lt1 paxton
hello i have a 95 TA with a paxton sc and stock lt1 bottom end from GM with 7,000 miles on it. the heads are rebuilt with little port work. but any way the car has now got massive blow by its shooting the dip stick out and spraying oil out of the back of the intake manifold. the pcv is hooked up to the unboosted side of the sc so im thinking the rings blew.... what do you think i should do can i just slap some forged pistons is it and call it a day? if so what wold you use? its only pushing 6 lbs of boost and i dont see the point on over building it just wamt somthing cheap that i can count on thanks

A basic rebuild will consist of SRP pistons - Dished/forged to lower compression and increase durability - If you have 7000 miles on your block, you could probably run 4.000 std. pistons and just hone the cylinders. You can run stock rods if you -at the least- get some ARP bolts in there. If I were to do a budget motor again, I would get some Scat forged rods. Stock crank with ARP bolts or studs and that's it!
Proper setup and the above with good rods should be ok for 600 to the tire and won't break the bank!
