Can I tap a power source for the T-Rex from the fuel relays???

It says in the Vortech manual to run the power wire to the battery... that's a long way to run, can I just tap it somewhere?

No. The pump draws a ton of power and needs its own 30 amp line. Trying to piggy back it on another source will just blow that sources fuse.

Where can I route it then??? That's a lot of damn power... Is it going to interfere with my stereo or anything like that???

Run it to a Capacitor if ya got one for your stereo. Other than that. Battery or NOT at all!!

Would I be able to hook it up to a spare hole on my fuse block for my system? That would be a lot easier since it's right there and the fuse block gets 0 gauge wire from my batt...

you have 1" power wire and don't have a capaciter?? it's just a LOT safer to run it to the battery. Because a CAP is much like a battery I said there also...

I don't think most fuse blocks are designed for much over 30amps. If you are going to all the trouble of hooking it to a fuse block, it's not any harder to run it your battery. What's the big deal about going to the battery, it's not THAT difficult?

You'll want as much voltage as possible to that pump, because if it fails and you run lean, you'll waste your engine because you couldn't take the extra 30 minutes to run it to the battery LOL.....

Just my .02 worth.

He was more than likely talking about an aftermarket fuse block. I use to have a 120 fuse block for my stereo.

Alright!! Here's the problem with hooking it up anywhere after the battery!! Bare with me, here's an example of what could happen....I know if you did your stereo correctly you will have a waterproof fuse under the hood less than a foot away from the battery for power wire!! I'm assuming you did because ya got fuse blocks and not many use them, assuming you got the circuit breaker fuse block instead of those cheap *** things just to relay the power from 1 wire to how ever many amps you have. On with my point!! If you have the fuel pump power wire connected to the fuse block there are 2 fuses that can blow to cut your fuel pump off!! That might not be so bad if your crusing when it happens but if your racing someone and either of those fuses blow, not only will you be buying new fuses but a new engine as well. I highly doubt the battery will every just blow and stop working!!

It's not really the fact that you can't do it because that probably won't happen if the stereo is done correctly but because what your hooking up is soo important I wouldn't risk it. It's worth taking the extra 30 mins or however long to do it right.

I really wouldn't take the easy road out!! I can even tell you an easy way to do it because going through the LS1 firewall is a bitch!! I was expecting rubber groments near the petals but HELL NO!!! Hard *** plastic. Do it this way...When you install this pump, just look for the fuel lines. Tire wrap the power wire to the fuel lines under the car and come up on the other side of the firewall. That's how I hooked mine up because I have soo much **** going through my firewall that I didn't feel like drilling anymore holes at the time.

I think I will just do that and run it to the battery zip tied to the fuel lines... My underhood fuse is 200 amps, trust me my stereo system and my wiring abilities ain't no punk... BUT you are right it would make me sleep easier to have it straight to the battery. I have a gold plated battery terminal to accept the 0 gauge power wire, and I have 4 gauge going from my battery to the alternator. There is two more holes for wire, I think I will use one of those. Thanks.
