Can the MSD Boost Timing master be used as ...
Can the Boost Timer Master from MSD (part# 5462) be used as an ordinary Ignition control like de MSD 6A ????
I do not intend to run any form of F/I on my car.
I found out that i purchased (boughta bunch of parts for my LT1 2 years ago) the wrong item after close inspection.
I thought i had a MSD6A but instead i have the Boost Control Master unit which almost looks identical.
I know i should have paid more attention and i guess i learned it the hard way.
Checking the wiring schemes i noticed a setup which incorporated the Dual connector coil on the LT1 engine and it gave me the impression that this unit can be used as a normal Ignition control unit.
Is this true ???

No, i mean the 5462
Just like this one:
http://www.msdignition.com/tc_18.htm
exact same, and the part number on the unit itself says 5462 also.

ok, sorry. No it is not an amplifier/cd box like the 6x, it will not drive a coil. It is only used for timing modification and is used as a trigger for a cd box.
