I hope I didn't come across as jumping on him. I just don't want new racers to repeat the mistakes I've made.
This site and the other competing sites should post something of a mission statement, which should include some type of advice in these areas. For example:
Rule #1: A racer should first decide how fast he/she wants to go, and then purchase components that will allow the racer to go 10% faster.
Rule #2: A racer should purchase the best components he/she can afford.
Rule #3: The racer should understand that changing or adding a component will probably neccesitate changing or adding other components.
etc, etc, etc.

Absolutely. We don't even install ATI stuff any more because of reliability and low power issues. We put an ATI with a 2-core on a Mustang at 10 psi and it put 365 to the wheels. Later we put an S-trim on another Mustang of the same year and it put 370 to the wheels non-intercooled at 8 psi.
Vortech and Paxton are all we install.
