crane Hi-6TR Timing Retard Controller help

as the subject says, I need help, the person i bought the vortech kit from cut the plug that plugs into the map sensor so.

what are my options? are there any plugs we can wire upto the controller that will plug into the map sensor? I don't think a gm plug will work and we don't know how to wire it up.

any of you guru's have any expierience with this exact thing if so you will save me 120 and keeping me from having the car till after x-mas

Might want to check the documentation ...

Doesn't the TRC2 take a 2-bar MAP sensor as input? Any idea how the TRC might retard timing, expecting 2-bar sensor but being hooked up to a 1-bar sensor?

Yeah, it requires a special 2 bar map. If you hook it up to the factory map, it will never read any boost and will never retard the timing. I believe if you order a replacement sensor from Crane, it will come with a pigtale. The part number for the sensor is 9000-0110. Like I said, I believe it should come with a pigtale, but I'm not 100% sure.

Good luck.

Zac, you need the same pigtail that plugs into teh standard map sensor. 3 wire. You also need teh 2 bar map sensor which crane sells for about sixty bones. You may be able to get teh pig tail from them too. Don't worry, it's cake!

If you don't have the MAP sensor I have an extra vortech one. Also, a standard 3 wire pigtail will work, just crimp and preferably solder the connections.

Try this link http://64.90.9.168/cranecams/pdf/90006000e.pdf If it doesn't work go to crane cams website and they have instruction manuals of all of there products. On there home page just look at the left hand side menu for installation instuctions
