Drove to the track, ran 9's, drove home

Took my rx7 to the track today and hit one of my goals I've wanted for awhile. To drive there, run a 9 and drive it home, which it did, only tweaked the tune and aired down the tires. All passes were on e85, $1.99 gallon cheap fuel! I was leaving SUPER SOFT so I didn't hurt the rear end, only running 5lbs all of 1st gear(~75mph) and 11lbs in 2nd and 3rd. It's a 140k mile junkyard 5.3 with a homebuilt manifold kit with a TC78, th400 with coan 4000 nitrous converter, ford 8" rear end with a 3.00 gear. Car has less than $7500 total invested, I need to add it up, but probably closer to $6000. I want to give a big thanks to Maxxmitchell, I couldn't have done it without him.

1.669 60ft
6.540 1/8th
114.82 1/8th mph
9.93 1/4
144.71 1/4 mph

On a 5lb pass, leaving super soft again it went...

1.735 60ft
6.806 1/8th
106.79 1/8 mph
10.48 1/4
132.99 1/4 mph

Put it on the dyno on Saturday, made 408rwhp on 5lbs and 557rwhp on 11lbs with 19 degrees timing. On 10 degrees timing it made 515rwhp. Car still has a lot left in it on this budget setup.

My boy! Nice work Justin. Too bad you never got that 9 second slip for me Goes to show you, rwhp on the dyno doesn't tell the whole story!

I had the black formula, that setup was VERY CLEAN, but just didn't work out.

Yeah, whe he ran 11psi with the LT1 (pretty much stock) bird, he trapped right at 128mph... and his current lsx with the same boost is probably only making 50rwhp more or so... so it's definitely all in the power/weight ratio!

Now you just need a hood.

Good job.

I've seen the engine bay several times, but haven't seen the whole car yet.

I got a hood, but it won't currently fit as we didn't care to cut up the cold side more than we did knowing this winter I'm going to redo it with twin procharger intercoolers.
