engine assembly question regarding rods

engine assembly question regarding rods
When looking at the cap of the rod where the bearing rides, one side flares out farther than the other. My question is do the larger flares go to the outside of the crank journal, or do they butt between the rods. I figured I would ask now when it's easy to change around. I would have looked at the old rods and pistons, but they are now disassembled. Look at the pic enclosed here : http://www.bytehead.com/~dunk/6-18-04.html
Is this in right? or backwards. I made all the rods go the same way on the pistons, I have floating pins, so it would be easy to reverse if needed.

A piston will have some kind of mark on it (many times an arrow or dot on the crown) to point to the front of the engine. This is critical since the piston pin will be offset and it should only be offset to one side. If it's reversed the piston will rock in the bore at the wrong time and will then likely make noises you won't like.

This is the statement that worries me. If your rods are asymmetrical, as your picture shows, then when you build your piston/rod assys you will build a right and a left bank set (4 each). Did you do this? Your statement above makes it sound like you didn't.
