Re: Finally... dyno numbers for the 'Bird!!!

You have got to be kidding me bro, I have used LT1edit AND tunercat and currently have a DFI gen 7 setup. While you are correct that it is within the PCMs range to produce that amt of power it is not worth it! Its a simple fact that the LT1 pcm doesn't understand boost which makes it a poor choice for a boosted car! Don't go on about editing the map sensor table to emulate a 2 bar map sensor because its just a lot of wasted effort when you can do it right the first time.

FAST is nice for it's real time adjustability and instant wideband feedback. I have both and have used both, but to say 700 Hp is to extreme for the stock PCM is absolutely false.

Edit: Crazy numbers Now get some times
I used the D series brackets and I ground a little bit off the corner of the block to clear the blower. Took less than 5 minutes.

Are you using the ATI tensioner setup or an aftermarket one?

Thumbs up Re: Finally... dyno numbers for the 'Bird!!!

ATI tensioner set up with the correct belt... no slippage with this 12 rib system.

Awesome power, even more impresive since your running LT1 heads!

I went a few weeks ago. This car is all new to me and is quite the learning experience. Nevertheless I had fun. The first run down the track was a "grandma run" just to make sure that everything was ok. The next run I let it fly (so I thought, see upcoming comments) and I ran a 10.9 @130 mph with a 1.67 60 foot time. After checking the F.A.S.T. log of the run, it seems that I only was pushing the throttle at the very most of 68%. It appears that my brain is not telling my foot to mash the pedal. Maybe it's a mental thing... to be honest, I'm still a little bit nervous about the speed. I guess I'll get used to it. Also... max boost was 16 psi. I took the intake tube off later and got back my 22 psi (as expected). I just wanted to test things out. I know... the 60 foot time will need some help. I'll get it back to my previous best of 1.49. The good thing so far is that I made it through the traps in 4th gear, a 4.11, and a 26 inch tall tire. We'll see what happens when I a better 60 foot and some more mph. But... I can always go through the traps at 7000 rpms. I am looking forward to going again. Thanks to FLP and especially Dan for taking the time to make sure the 'Bird was behaving. I am confident that the car will run 9s... it just comes down to the driver... that bum.

Accel fuel injection manifold for the old style sbc, modified to work with LT1 heads.

Re: Finally... dyno numbers for the 'Bird!!!

Could you post a pic of it from the front with the hood closed? You modded the front bumper correct?
