Re: Finally dyno'd my Camaro.

Nice set up ..

yes I am not a big fan of dyno pulls because the numbers never seem to add up from place to place.. The real indication for me has always been the track
trap speed don't Lie about how much power you are making no matter with 1/4 numbers are which i think tell the true story on how much power a car makes

With your set up and 14 psi of boost you should be seeing an easy 600 hp and about 600 flt pounds of torque...

For example my car has a procharger with 15 pound pulley (i only see about 11 pounds) on built 383 (with stock heads) and a small cc305 cam Traps at about 123 mph at the end of the 1/4 with a 2.0 60 ft time (basically i am just rolling it off the line and punching it)

When dynoed (at the time the car was an auto and a loose converter.. know its a 6 speed ) it only dynoed 523 at 5200 (early shut off ) and 600 torque at only 5200 (fuel cut off is 6200)
the only reason we had to shut it off early is that the motor was blowing through the converter..

so i am pretty sure you should be making more power then what the dyno is indicating at 14 psi.. unless your tune is really on the conservative side

my my self and i having a little night fun video quality sucks but you can see that i am holding onto the steering wheel lol

**** i imagine with 8.5:1 cr you could easily get away with 25 psi, assuming the bottom end can hold that. I was told runners dont need to be so lrg for forced induction since yer pressurizing the intake. Also, boost isnt always everything, its a measure of the resistance to flow, which lrg free flowing heads will decrease the resistannce, and hence less boost seen, but that doesnt necessarily mean you would make less power, so i doubt they really hurting you. I cant imagine the turbo not being able to produce at least 20 psi though with 355 ci. If you can manage another 5 psi out of the setup and increase your timing, that thing really gonna come to life.
