CNC 180cc heads don't compare to heavily worked 227's... no comparison.

THANK YOU! I'm glad someone in here understands where the power can be best gained for FI.

good analogy:

F1 pushing air thru a water hose isn't going to make a whole lot more than a D1 pushing air thru a water hose. Either one of them pushing air thru a 3" pipe will make a whole lot more than the hose. This is dramatized, but makes a point.

Thanks again for giving more insight for those that may continue to believe more boost is the answer for all power solutions.

Never said that,.......just stating the obvious that what you'd spend to do the top end will probably be close to what you'd spend to do an F1 with the same results, and leave room to upgrade the heads at a later date to make more power, as where upgrading the heads/intake now will net you what you may be looking for right now, but still end up in a dead end.

Either way, since we all knew what you were going to do from the get go anyways, HOW MUCH you want for your heads? I just looked at the AFR 210's that flow 300 from the box and you can get them for around $1600. Im curious as to what yer going to be asking for yours, and a timeframe of when they'll be available?

Like I said, this is all info for speculation. I don't know when. It won't be until at the earliest next year sometime. I will let you know first if I decide to go that route.

Not sure what I'll be asking. AFR's website for the 210's fully ready to go (valves, springs, retainers, ect.) for the competition heads (the ones that flow more than 300 CFM that you are refferring to), list for $2649.00. Not really sure where you can get new ones for $1000 less than that. Mine are 180's fully ported by TPIS, probably flowing slightly less than the 210 competition model. However my springs, rockers, ect. are much more top of the line than what come with the AFR heads from AFR.

I'd honestly have to sit down and figure what it all is worth to me. In the end, probably more than $1600 but I won't know until (or if) that time comes.

Yeah, those are the street version as you mentioned. They flow 299, but also only cost $2,070.00 from AFR. Mine will outflow these.

The competition AFR 210's are the ones that will outflow mine (311 CFM), but with the larger price tag.

Again, I'll have to look up records to get the exact numbers, but if memory serves me correct, my heads when on the flow bench did something like 306 CFM.

Don't wait on me if you want heads soon man. I still am not even sure I will be wanting to part with mine. If I do, its gonna be a while.

Those are SBC heads, LT1 versions are typically more money.

Ahhhh, yeah, yer right. I missed that because they talk about lt1 heads in the ad being in stock. So it look like they're around 2k assembled. I could get them a little cheaper through a supplier. Thanks for the input.
