Kenny Bell 03 Cobra calling out my Supercharged LT1...
Well fellas, I gotta question for you that might know mustangs. Theres this dude with an 03 Cobra that has yanked out the stock supercharger and put a Kenny Bell on it. Other mods are unknown, but I know he's running 19#'s of boost, and hooks up pretty decent.
He recently ran my buddies C6 with heads, cam, intake, full bolt ons, and a drive tune (automatic with no converter from a roll, not sure on the C6's RWHP but I would guess around 450-470 RWHP) and beat him pretty good, I'd say by at least 5-6 cars.
My question is, do you think I have a shot against him? Now that I have been able to drive the car in the cooler weather, its not hooking up quite as well as it was when it was warm, but it seems as though its stronger than ever.
Whaddya think? To close to call? Or do you think I should have him beat?

Go for it Ben! I just had the exact same scenario w/ my earlier post. I believe he's got the 2.3 but it's not the factory one and he's running 18lbs close to 650rwhp. I was only at 10lb's and I gave him a run for the money but he still put it on me but you? 15lbs I'm sure it'll be a good close race but I think you can do it if your's is anything like mine @ 10lb's. Now we didn't do any real digs either (low rolls on the autobahn) so that's a different ball game but I still think it'll be down to driver for sure.

If we were to race, it would be from a 1st gear roll, and I could always put my slicks on (when he ran the vette he had some wide drag radials on). With my slicks, I know I would dead hook, and since it would be from a roll and not a dead stop I think I would have a good chance if everyone thinks he would be at about the same RWHP level.
My car did 614 on a dynojet, but from what its worth that also was on a 85 degree day with humidity over 70%. Now that I am driving it in cooler weather I find it faster than ever before.
Thanks for the info fellas. Anyone else?

That should be a real close race, if your gonna use slicks, why not go from a dead stop and put a real punishing on him. I assume this race will go down in the usual locations in Fort Wayne (I'm guessing most race spots are the same as when I used to live there). If so, slicks would be good for hgwy 30 and drag radials from a roll should work real good if your headed to 469 with se-rated concrete.

Unkown where it will go down. Hopefully I don't fall into the peer pressure and we will make a run of it at the track (Muncie), and then I will have slicks on for sure.
But if we end up crossing paths on an abandoned highway, and my DR's are sticky, who knows
I'll post up the results when they happen on here for all those wondering the outcome.

They dead hook with nitto's or hoosiers when most cars wont at the same power levels.
A KB cobra is wicked from a dig, but they run out of top end.
I had a buddy with a F1a procharger running 25psi just to keep up with a KB cobra through a 1/4.
Both cars had 4.11 gears and drag radials and both dead hooked. The KB just beat him through the 1/8 while the procharger came up on the top end.

Uh yea, I've seen plenty of KB cobra's living in Texas (DFW area) and that's why I stated to run from a roll on serated concrete if he was using drag radials (on said abandoned highway, aka Hgwy 469 ) He is definitely more than a match for a KB cobra with slicks and a setup F-body suspension, but that race should be done on the track at Muncie
Both cars are north of 600 plus rwhp and 911 should have a slight weight advantage, its just going to take some wizardry in his launch skills to shut the door on the KB. Just to set the record straight, I am by no means dis-respecting the KB Cobra, they are extremely nasty and usally should be avoided at all costs , but in this case I think he has a pretty good shot.
Should be a fun race and I agree keep it to the track if possible, let us know the details, 911.

have you ever seen a KB cobra launch with drag radials?

I meant aftermarket converter
I'll keep everyone up to date with the results when they occur.
