Lifting heads or blown gasket???

well guys,

I am in the process of slipping in the new camshaft, so I got the car up drained the oil... and noticed it had a slight tan cloudy hugh to it. level was not excessivly high and my cooling system has not lost any fluid, car is running good and strong. so my question for you all is what are the symptooms of lifting the heads? will you notice a discoloration of the oil with little to no issue with the cooling system at normal idle and operation?

I would rather not pull the heads if I don't have to as I am doing the cam swap with the motor in the car and had not planned on removing the heads or I would yank the motor out. I plan on turning the boost down after the cam swap to around 15-16 pounds for the same performance at lower boost pressures.. I know air int he cylinder is air in the cylinder and if she's lifting them now on 20 pounds she will likely lift them at 15-16. using ARP bolts and 1074 Felpros, and like I said all else seems fine. I did have some tuning issues where she ran really fat for about a day or two and was wondering if leaded race fuel in the oil would thin it out and turn it a tanish cloudy hugh? she isn't white or watery as other blown head gasket cars I have seen and there is no pressurization of the cooling system at idle or by revving the engine in neutral. which was also apparent on the other cars. being the first turbocharged vehicle I have owned, and not having many local guys who run big boost I don't have many resources to get opinions so I turn to you big boost guys. my plugs look normal.. nice light brown burning well on all 8.

so let me know what you guys think.. if I gotta pull the motor I will cause swapping gaskets in the car is no fun.. easier to pull out the motor and do the cam swap and heads on the stand. this will also give me a chance to send the manifolds, crossover, downpipe and turbine housing out to be coated. and go ahead and port the heads and intake while its out.

think I just made my own mind up...lol I wouldn't mind getting a good look at the pistons either to see how the TRW slugs have been holding up.

Are you using ARP Head BOLTS or Head STUDS. From what I see using the Fel-pro 1074, the 15lb+ guys are running the Head studs without any problems.

BTW sounds like you have a Very Nice setup care to give us some specs
