They didnt have 42" or 43". I started with 43" which gave good pulley wrap but made the tensioner arm perpendicular to the belt which I think can overtighten if it attemps to pull on the arm. I installed a 12rib procharger ebay 42" belt but it was almost impossible to get it on, however the tensioner arm is parallel with the belt so I'd think this is best for avoiding problems regarding the tensioner.
lol yes some of the belts are not the same size even though they say the same part number. I got mine at auto-zone (42inch I will also get the part number for you) you have to pull a bunch of them and measure to make sure they are within spec.... i had to go through about 12 of them to get 4 that matched... but for the price (i think they were 14.99 or less each its worth the trouble) and works great
or you can get also 10 rib belt from napa

Yesterday I bought a 2-3x larger K&N, suprised it fit and it had 0 effect on loss of boost.
Last night I pulled my Orange Flex Hose and it looks like it bunches up a bit but I cannot collapse it with both hands except using extreme force.
Now, the first rubber elbow at the end of the Orange Flex Hose I can collapse with my two fingers... this goes right to the air cleaner. How many people re-use this extremly weak rubber elbow when they replace the orange flex hose?
In my case, my flex hose looked fine but makes we wonder how the rubber elbow could not collapse under any vacuum.

Today I ordered the $86 plastic pipe replacement for Procharger along with the "install kit" for an additional $85 which replaces the crappy rubber elbow with stronger parts... makes me wonder why they changed that rubber elbow!

All of these parts and I'll probably still have a belt slip problem.

Well at least you can start to eliminate other issues to boost loss...Amazing how much they charge for $.02 worth of plastic and can get away with it..but I guess its worth it for the solution.

Yea that orange thing with the aluminum collar/rubber elbow rubbed against the rack&pinion and wore a hold in the dust cover so hoping the money will at least fix my problems with space and that orange duct always made me nervous... always thought it was leaking, it wasn't though.

I bought a $4 solid steel 90 degree rotating flex furnace duct that fits just about perfect with a bit of trimming to get the angle, but the alum collar that the orange duct clamped too interfered with the blower outlet by about 1/8" too close to it, other wise it fit. This made it hard getting the rubber elbow to attach to it with the outlet hose installed.. if I could only rotate the outlet a little bit it probably would've worked fine.

I too suspected the intake ducting on my D1 of low efficiency flow. I fabricated my own steel 4" intake from 16ga exhaust pipe. 4" fit up good on the D1 intake. Fixed it with pinch type 10-24 set screws and a stout bracket down below.

I also finished the entire intake wiith 3 1/2" pipe. It helped alot in my opinion. Air flow is everything.

I also run a 12 rib 7-5/8pd to 3.4" pd belt. From NAPA. I also had a belt tension problem w/ the ATI idler. So, I invented/ fabricated a way to limit the belt tensioner amplitude for better alignment traction. It worked, and, with lower pre-load force resulting in lower crankshaft moment load.
