Downpipe is where most say. Wastegate shouldn't effect it as long as there are no leaks. It reads a ratio - so the amount of air flowing past it shouldn't matter.

I have a leak on my wastegate on the downpipe side, my preturbo side seals fine - so thats why my wideband read correctish - the dyno was off.
o2 sensors dont like all the pressure. And will fail faster in that enviroment(so im told). My wideband is about 9-10 inchs down the downpipe.

My stock o2's are in the crossover. But i doubt they last too long (speaking of, i gotta replace one now). I plan on going megasquirt and ditching them anyways hopefully soon.

quick qustion as the system is coming together great just wanted to add on i hope you plan on supporting the weight of the turbo somehow with a bracket from the motor to the turbo or a brackets from the turbo to subframe off the car with some sort of cushion mount for vibrations of the engine unless you are running solid mounts i see most single turbo kits DROOP after a couple WOT passes due to the weight of the turbo and all of the piping...is that a t70 if so how large of a wheel are you running in the rear .81 .96 1.18 let me know....

but all in all cool beans brotha..

Mine hasn't "drooped" yet. But I do plan on some sort of help holding the turbo up in the very near furture.

I think crackin pipes are the bigger worry when ya dont support the turbo. Definitly something that should be done on any setup that aint a got a log holding the turbo up

Its a .96 and Im running supports up from two free bolt holes on the block. I havent figured if I want to make it a welded connection to the main 3" log or have it so I can disconnect it from the brace. Itll depend on if I can get the header out easily with it as a welded connection.

thanks for the info on the WB. After the turbo makes alot of sense.

I made it from a pice of 3" pipe. I cut a section close to the length I wanted and then cut a slice down the side, used a vise and slowly worked it into the cone shape, cut the excess off and welded down the seam. It took about 10 mins from start to finish.

WOW its looking awesome....I wish i had the time to make my own logs.

I must say I LOVE your 3rd gen. I am doing a turbo setup in my 87 IROC also....just over the coarse of the next year....slowly buy the parts.

I have the C4 corvette headers that im going to flip and run 90* bends then down under the motor but try to tuck it under the motor as soon as possible so I dont have 2.5inch pipe running everywhere lol

Keep it up.

Also I noticed that ur building the motor with stock heads? I plan on the same. Are you going 355? If so what parts? I know the mahle -26cc pistons (which did u buy off that ebay add that listed the wrong alloy?)

Thanks man! The car has been slowly getting to were I want it. its taken almost 10 years to figure out what that was!

The engine is a 355. Im doing splayed main caps. Using Pro-Grams caps. Eagle crank and Eagle H-beam rods (5.7") The pistons are the ones from Mahle. The should be here in a couple weeks. every person Ive talked to from Mahle says there 2618 so Im going to go on there word... The stock heads are the LE3's from Lloyd so they should support my goals, (~600hp). The cam is last on my list. not sure if im going to go custom or off the shelf....
