I did pull a 1.55 60 ft. Wed. at darlington which is my best by .50 leaving near 5500.. was a nice rush!! My buddy has a 700r he'll let me get cheap to build up. Does anyone have any experience w/ what they can take if built right?? I would go man. valve body w/ a brake. that 3.06 first gear would be nice.Tranny wasn't happy at the track, wasn't shifting well. thinkin that 700r or finding 4l80 might be the ticket??

I don't know my auto's the way I know M6's. I do know that you have better potential of running better track times with an auto if thats what you want. I am just more or less saying that the M6 is stronger, and will support 650+ RWHP as it sits from the factory, and if you get your car setup properly like mine, you can still get good traction even with a manual with high RWHP.

Run some brake grease on the back of the pads (stop squeek)

I had the same issue with my GSX Wilwood's that were slotted. If they didnt squeek, they clicked.

SixSpeedsInc.com (formerly T56Rebuilds.com) will rebuild your trans for 700hp for under $1000. If you're willing to do the work yourself, they'll sell you all of the upgrade parts for under $700.

If you don't already have one, add a Pro 5.0 shifter to that total. You're still looking at spending a lot less money than you would on an auto swap.
