MAF Relocation help

I relocated my MAF to the pressure side and i'm now having trouble keeping the Piping together where the MAF is. I've ran it like this for months but once i turned the boost up it began blowing apart.

So i'm needing some ideas on how to keep it together. At the moment i'm using Fernco Plumbing pieces to connect the 3" pipe to the MAF. I'm needing a single piece that goes from 3 to 3.5"?

Does gates or anyone make such a piece? Show me your setup.

Thanks
Travis

Try those v band clamps. Seems to work for some. Otherwise you may need to weld a lip on for the clamp to grab.

Yep the V-band clamps were gonna be next. Do you mean weld a lip on the MAF? Is the MAF 3.5"?

Thanks

Yes F-Body MAF is 3.5, the B-Body MAF is 3". And I meant to weld a lip on the intake elbow but maybe on the MAF too. I don't know, as long as it doesn't hurt anything.

why not just use a T-bolt clamp? It's a $5 piece and I would be suprised if any turbo car can blow these apart. These can be found at http://www.roadraceengineering.com/hoseandclamps.htm you can also find 3" to 3.5" silicon couplers there

Here is what I did:

You will have to scroll half way down the page to see the pic and write up:

I got my hoses and constant torque clamps from http://www.turbohoses.com/

Hope that helps,
Claude

Thanks Claude!

One Question when you ordered the clamps did you get 3"or 3 1/4" and for the MAF did you get 3 1/2 or 3 3/4. Just making sure you dont need a little bigger clamp to compensate for the extra rubber from the 3" to 3 1/2" transition hose.

Thanks again
Travis

I got just 3inch clamps for the tubing and I think 3.5 for the maf (I cant remember but I think the guy from turbohoses told me that that 3 inch clamp has enough slack to fit over maf and still be torque/tighten down) You may want to call tubrohoses.com and ask just to be sure. The tubing that they sell is very thin but very strong so you really dont need to go bigger on the clamps. They fit Great! By the way BEFORE I did this mods, I was blowing off my maf tubes like twice a week, since I did it, I never blew off the tubes again. I think I did this mod in June of this year so its held up real nice

Hope that helps,
Claude

I welded a 3" to 3-1/2" "header reducer" to my 3" piping coming from the intercooler. Then just used the 3-1/2" hoses with regular clamps on each side of the MAF.
