need lots of help

ok fellas this is my first post so i suppose it better be a good one. i have a 1996 camaro ss bone stock right now. i have been building a 383 forged bottom end with 8.5 cr. i was thinking on going with dart heads and a single plain intake setup. now the fun part as it has been debated soo many times. should i run a f1a procharger on this motor or a forced inductions s80 turbo? i know all about the turbos and what they are capable of but dont know jack about prochargers but was told a f1a was the biggest i could get. the goal for the car is to be a car i can drive on the street and take it to the track and bust out some 9 sec runs. the car is also a 6sp if that helps on what i should i do. like i said i know what kind of whp numbers i can expect outta a turbo so i guess what could i expect out of a f1a? and also is that the biggest i can go? thanks for the info and feedback as it is going to help me out a ton.

i personally like turbos more. You seem to know more about turbo's than you do prochargers, so i would recommend that route as well.

Stock to FI 383? That is a decent size step up.

I would say turbocharger only if you know what you're doing, otherwise superchargers are great.

I can tell you the 9's, combined with streetable, combined with the 6-sp = very very questionable.

With HP levels needed to run 9's, being streetable is a relative term. From what i've seen >100 octane is required; and the HP levels will destroy most (and all at some point ) T-56s.

It is going to be a bunch of money by the time you build your streetable 9 second car. It might be $25,000 to do it right and make it last.

trust me fellas i know it is going to be prob. at least 30k to do this. i know for sure its not going to be cheap and ready to pay it. lol. i am tired of checking out ls1tech and seeing all these 9 sec ls1's i'm ready to sign up over there and put the lt1 on the map but i need to do it first. also i just really want a badass car from stock to 9 sec. i know is a dramatic change but i have driven and owned a 10 sec camaro so it shouldnt be anything i'm not use to. but i'm not going to sit here and say its going to run 9's you know what i mean. i am saying i want a 9sec ride and wanted to know what could most def get me there. thanks guys for the responses as i am seeing the turbo wins hands down. i am pretty confident with the right setup, tune and a really expensive tranny it should hold up pretty good you know tune it down for the street to drive some on the weekends then when i put r.gas in load a new tune and let it rip that would be the idea ticket. but whatever it takes i am determined to do it. projected start up date to get the project rolling is going to be dec/jan time a few months after i mark-up. but again thanks guys any other ideas be sure to throw them out there cause i got awhile to think this set-up through i want the best combo to run 9's i only plan building once hahaaha like we know thats going to happen.
