need some guesses...
I'm going to be running a weird combination this first time around, just too see how much power I can make on stock heads/cam/intake/tb. I plan on a 383 over winter with some LE heads, custom cam, and probably a stand alone fuel system.
Details for now:
355 9.5:1 compression
stock crank
eagle rods
wiseco pistons
splayed mains
all arp hardware
1074 head gaskets
STOCK intake
STOCK TB
STOCK cam
1.6 rr's
lt4 valve springs
Th400 with a coan 4000 nitrous converter(tight)
Hybrid 8.8 3.55 gears 33 spline axles spool
26x11.50x15 et streets(going back to my 325/50/15 mt dr's soon)
Real quick's log manifold setup
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=541874
Turbonetics ball bearing T-76 with a .81 ar
30x12x3 FMIC
3" charge pipe
silicone cuplers w/ all tbolt clamps
3" downpipe connected to a 3" cutout to a stock catback
44mm tial WG
RFL wastegate
Prosport boost guage
Joe P MBC
lc1 wideband w/ XD-1 guage
42lb injectors(60's will go in as soon as I need them)
255 intake pump with a kenne bell boost a pump
obdI conversion tuned by me w/ tunercats(hopefully will soon be going megasquirt)
No p/s, no hvac, no abs, no front bumper support, no sway bar
Engine bay completely wire tucked
hal shocks, bmr tq arm, bmr lca's/panhard rod
The car was a nitrous car, no track times, but did leave wheels up on the street on the spray and put down some modded r1's and 600+ rwhp cars. It made 520rwhp on the 1st stage with an opti issue, gained 17rwhp on motor with the opti fixed and 8 degrees of timing taken out. Never dyno'd it on the 2nd stage.
I'm looking to get back where I was on the 150 shot for now, all pump gas like I was on the nitrous. I'd like to get 525+ rwhp, lots of tq, and be able to bust off some 10's without much issue. I'm not truely concerned with peak #'s, I'd like a decent curve and a good et/mph.
Think it's possible on pump gas with no water injection? Anybody have any guesses how much boost it'll take to get me there and whats your opinion on how much I can make on pump gas?

I am no forced induction expert but with 15psi you can double the HP of an engine and do that on pumpgas as long as you have an intercooler or I would just run alky that way you could richen it and cool it off at the same time. With the amount you are spending I would go ahead and put a little blower turbo cam while youre at it. Good luck later Clint

Hey Justin, I would try and pick people's brain on that 4k stall. Engineermike has experience with turbo/stall combos. I would pm him for his opinion. You should hit full boost before 4000rpm, so the stall might not be ideal.

Thanks clint, I plan on doing some le heads this winter and a cam, but for now I want to see what it will make on stock heads/cam.
Jon, I'm really curious to see how it works also, if it doesn't work out too well, it will go back to Coan to be restalled.

Just kind of thinking out loud.... Where does the stock cam peak? 5200-5400? I would think you would want to take advantage of the nice flat torque curve this cam provides. I wouldn't think you need much stall for this setup. But I am no Automatic/Turbo expert so I'll let others provide some more useful info.
When I had full bolt-ons (helping the motor breath better) I made peak tq @ 3200rpm on the dyno.

at 15psi x 7% = 105% power increase. So your pretty correct in that statement.

My main issue right now is the STOCK HEADS AND STOCK CAM. I know with the heads/cam it will make it easily, but pushing all this power through the stock parts will be fun.

Well the stock heads shouldn't hurt you too much being that you are force feeding it 15+psi of boost. The stock cam will hinder high rpm but overall you can make 500+rwhp with that setup. We built a turbo LT1 with ported heads, hydraulic roller 230 degrees, T76, and put down 690rwhp@15PSI on pumpgas. The car ran 9.40's@140+mph but the car was taken apart and sold. So this is the route I am thinking about going this winter. Later

With the stock parts you make good numbers, with the upgraded head you will get sick numbers.. as was mentioned above. (690whp @ 15 psi)
