Not an LT1 Pulley?

I bought a vortech 2.95 pulley from Summit.
http://images.search.yahoo.com/image...sigb=12g1md6rm

It has a long neck to it, like the one that shows in the picture, that pushes it out further than the original pulley that was on there. Therefore, it doesn't line up with the other pulley. Did I get the wrong model? Or can I just have the stem machined off? Anybody else experience this?

96 and 97 require a shorter hub because of the reluctor for the crank sensor.
93-95 had a longer style

I'm not for sure about cutting it down - I would ask vortech. You could always remove the reluctor too. I have done this on an obd1 conversion, and think you can take it out even with obd2.

hes talking about the actual s/c pulley, not the crank pulley. lt1's in general have different s/c pulleys because of the tight fit. i had to have my old powerdyne pulley machined to fit as well for the offset

There ya go, rub it in

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I'll get this thing machined. Damn. I couldn't get vortech on the line and summit didn't know anymore than I did. The part number and description wasn't specific enough. I should've went to ASP for this one.

Do the part numbers match? Summit could have made a mistake.

You are exactly right. Thanks for that, I checked the pn on the bag and sure enough, I was sent the wrong one. I don't know if they'll let me return it at this point, I'll check. But, I'll try to get it machined if they won't.
