FYI the P-1SC is as follows:

Pros:
Stronger
Cooler running
Easier to install (no oil lines)
Upgradeable to a D-1SC

Cons:
slightly more expensive
Requires oil changes every 6000mi

You decide:
It is Quieter.....

Hope this helps.

thanks i thought the d-1 would be sluggish on the bottom end while running low boost as i would have to on my stock motor.

The biggest problem with the P1SC is leaky seals. Every P1SC that I have seen has leaked. ATI will not cover this under warranty. I believe last time I checked it cost $250.00 to replace the seals.

IDOXLR8 why do they leak and where? i am buying a used p-1sc w/low miles and i want to make sure it doesn't need the seals changed. also you seem to be very up on prochargers and your setup sounds nasty, generally how long do compresers last?
Thanks
Matt

I have been witness to at least 3 - P1SC that have all leaked. I blame this on a crappy seal design. The seals are located inside the blower and is not something I would recommend taking apart unless you know the torque specs of the blower. When the seals begin to leak you will notice blower oil leaking from the discharge side of the compressor. This leads to a crashed impeller if you are not lucky and do not realize your blower is leaking oil.

Take it for what it's worth but as far as smaller blowers I think Vortech S-trim is a better blower than an ATI P1SC.

Does the D1SC have the leaky seal issue too?

My 600B has been very good to me over the years but many people have had problems with them. I have heard of too many issues with the self contained units to recomend them.

I run an ATI a P1SC and like it. I have put almost 50K miles on mine. It works great. It does leak though, mine has been leaking since after the first week that i put it on there but has not cause me any problems other than it being a little oily. I had a few folks that owned or knew someone that owned a P600B and they all told me that My P1SC is a lot quieter. Plus the P1SC can be upgraded for about ~1100 bucks later to D1SC specs when more boost/power is needed.

PS....Lonnie Pavtis is the guy to go to when you want an ATI Procharger. His Customer Service, Tech Support is UNMATCHED in the industry and I am sure many others on this board will tell you the same.

Thx,
Claude

The P600 is old tech, and the D1 is more than most need. The P1 is perfect for most people. It has enough to get you into the 9's with the right motor. Most people aren't even close to 10's with the D1- so whats that tell you.

Means they spent too much on the wrong parts. Get a used P1 and use the rest of your money to get some heads.
