people using Turbo Tech kit and headers.
I'm going to be getting the turbo technologies LT1 turbo kit....once i finish saivng up for it. I was just curious if anyone here knew if the kit would work with aftermarket headers. I know long tubes and midlenths are out...but Shorty would work wouldnt they, i mean, ones that bolt onto the factory y-pipe?

Won't work.
I really haven't looked at the turbo tech kit but I haven't heard many good things about it. You might want to check out the PTK kit:

Actually the early JBA will not bolt up to the y-pipe. I bought one for a 94-95 didnt work, so i returned it and made my own pipe.
As for the kit its junk! I had it big problems with the manifold leaking for the first year. Got that fixed and a few other things to realize I could not get any more then 11psi out of the kit. It had too much back pressure and i would not squeze a bigger housing to correct it. Sold it made a twin turbo kit and now I have never been happier

It most certainly will work, but it must be the early DUAL CAT (96-97) JBA passanger side (no way a 94-95 setup would work on the TT kit). Not sure when they started doing this, but JBA began selling the 94-95 passanger side header with their dual cat headers, which required 96-97 users to cut about a foot off their dual cat y-pipe and weld on a ball flange.

Right, i kinda figured it would work...i mean, so long as it bolts up to the factory y-pipe. The only reason im thinking about staying with turbo tech is that 1 its a little cheaper, and two, when i put the kit on i am only going to run 5-6 pounds AT MOST...as i will have the stock, until i have enough for a forged 355, or 383.
Any other opinions?

Also, obviously with a larger pump/injectors but, what HP can the stock fuel rails hold? Just for future reference

I've got a used TT kit right now. The only reason I bought it was because it was real cheap. I wouldn't buy one new. The fit and finish is terrible. I had to have the log manifold planed, and fabricate an S pipe to the existing cat. The intercooler blocks most of the radiator too. I'm most likely gonna buy a PT kit or build my own over the winter.

I have one of those modified TT kits, and will be replacing it this winter. I have not got the thing to seal up (exhaust wise) since day one. All said and done I could have probably bought a Pro Turbo Kit twice over with all the work I have done to this kit. My friend bought the intake piping for his car and front mounted the Intercooler. He also will will be redoing his log style header this winter. BTW aftermarket headers do work as long as they are Dual cat one's (96-97) I run an SLP header. Made Hp/Tq in sig with stock rails and lines and regulator at 18 PSI boost.
