what does n e one think of the powerdyne 6# setup for LS1 cars? I already have ported heads and crane cam w/ titanium retainer springs...headers and exhaust system...do you think good #'s will come ...not familiar with powerdyne setups but have a chance to get for a good price? Greg

Re: powerdyne 6#
I have the 6 lb setup on an LT-1.
The 6 lb pulley only gave me 4 psi through the
mid rpms.A lot depends on your rear end ratio. My 3.73 spools up a lot faster than if I let it shift into the GV OD which makes the 3.73 into a 2.91 which is pretty close to the dreaded 2.73 stockers I started with.
I put the 9 lb pulley in and it's much better even in double OD. Get a few more lbs than before. But I'm getting some pinging on downshifts on the highway, so I'm gonna hook up my Methanol/Water Injection for
that but I'm putting the car away for the winter this year.
The powerdyne is maintainance free and silent but it's a small blower compared to Vortech or Procharger.
I've got mine set up for max torque and I love it.The car can be a real beast and squalks the tires on a roll and will break them loose if it downshifts hard on the highway at 50 mph.
I don't rev the engine past 5400 rpm which is as far as I'm gonna go an a stock 100,000+ mile bottom end and internals with the 9 lb pulley.
Of course it all depends on the price.
If you're gonna wind up spending $5000.00 then it may be worth to get the bigger blower especially if you want to upgrade to more boost later.

Re: powerdyne 6#
I got my polished kit new for 2500, plus 200 for 30 lb injectors, 200 for the Madwolf tune with unlimited updates using LT-1 Edit, 90.00 for the 9 lb pulley and 160 for the bypass valve.
Because my car is a vert, an ABS box had to be relocated as well as the coil and the AIR motor among other things.
We moved the fuel lines when putting in the FMU and the whole thing took 38 hrs to install for which I paid a race mechanic pro 1500.
I made my own air intake from some 4" white PVC plumbing fittings from Home Depot.
It's cheap and easy to make and less restrictive than the supplied plastic inlet tube.
The ground clearance is very good.
I may be able to take a pic of it on saturday before I put the car away for the winter if you're interested.

OK here's a pic of my setup.
There's a 3" by 4" elbow off the supercharger, a 4" coupler,
A foot or so of 4" ABS, then a 4" to 3" reducer with a piece of 3" ABS then the MAF and the filter, all in a straight line.

Re: powerdyne 6#
Ya my 6 psi pulley only put out 4 and change on the boost guage throughout most of the midrange.
The 9 psi pulley I have now will do 6 and maybe 7 if I rev the engine to 5800 rpm but I have to hook up my water/methanol injection because now I'm getting some pinging especially on a highway downshift.
The 9 psi pulley makes the car a real torquer with lots of power in the lower rpms. Great for daily driving.
