Re: Re clocking Vortech..........

I actually found that it would be pretty much impossible to keep the front sway bar with rotating the output of the Vortech to the 5 or 7 o'clock position. I didn't want to have to get rid of it.

I decided to mount it back up with the discharge in the stock position and have some mandrel bent piping custom made to bring it from the discharge to the driver's side and down to the intercooler.

The problem for me now is the piping to run from the discharge of the intercooler to the throttle body elbow doesn't have anyplace to go with everything else in place. It looks like I'm not going to have any choice but to relocate the battery to the rear to make room for the piping to come up and through to the elbow. Something I really, REALLY didn't want to have to do what with all of the NHRA regulations that have to be met at the track.

or you could just delete that abs... and run both pipes down the driver side.. I rode in a friends car recently and I couldnt tell the difference.. After I found out i felt his pedal and it seemed firmer too.. I dont know what his brake setup is though.. Or keep the battery and run the pipe down inbetween the fans to the passenger side and back up through the driver side into the TB.. goin to have to go with about 2.75 pipe though till you get to the IC.. I eyeballed it and it doesnt seem that anything bigger will fit..

With the OBX intercooler (inlet and outlet on opposite sides) it doesn't make much sense to run both the inlet and outlet piping through the driver's side. Besides, with my hard intake tube coming down and ending with the filter right in the area in front of the d/s front tire, there isn't much room to run but one pipe through that area.

I thought about running the intercooler's discharge pipe up between the fans, but it would be just too tight for my likings. Besides, I want to continue using the original Vortech throttle body elbow (it has the IAT sensor mount), so I'll just turn it around towards the passenger's side and get an extended rubber coupler to give it clearance from the alternator.

I think I can run 3" piping straight off the blower all the way around. I took out all the A/C stuff, so with the condenser gone, I was able to move the radiator forward about 2-2.5".

I've already got the OBX intercooler. Hell, its already mounted.

I got the intake pipe from the guy I bought the whole Vortech system from. I'm not sure where he got it from, but I think its one of the "Brad Brand" ones that all these guys in this forum talk about. Its a great piece, though.

Re: Re clocking Vortech..........

anyone ever accomlish this feat? im thinking about it now. maybe keep the blower at 12 oclock and running the discharge over to the drivers side corner where the stock air box was, then down to the intercooler then around and up the passenger side and have the TB elbow on backwards to recieve the plumbing from the IC.

maybe???
