roots type blower

i saw on another board a guy who custom built a roots type charger into a spare intake manifold. what are teh options for guys that dont want the "break neck" speed that comes with the 3k-4k dollar cahrgers? but just want that little 5-6 psi? with a roots type i guess there wouldnt be any getting around cutting up the intake manifold though. i have an extra and i thought abot trying this out.

Re: roots type blower

although very interesting, i dont think that id would be worth the hassle. by the time you finish some project like that im sure youd be wishing you would have just bought a centrifugal SC kit.

and id bet he ended up spending nearly as much on what he did as just buying a vortech or ATI after all said and done. im sure that an eaton isnt "cheap" unless you can find a wrecked cobra that hasnt been stripped already.

and i dont know where you live but that definately wouldnt pass smog here.

if you want a do it yourself project, just look at the parts for sale forum and peice together your own sc or turbo set up from other guys stuff. or just by a cheap powerdyne.....

good luck.
