several questions
This is going to be a loaded topic, but here goes.
I have a n/a mill now that puts out 400rwhp. This isn't enough.
I'm about to build a new turbocharged engine, and was debating weather or not to use the LT-1 as a foundation.
The engine that I have now has: GM ZZ4 steel crank, h-beam rods, and forged flat top pistons, ballanced (turns up to 7000 rpms with no miss) , ported and polished heads (Lt1 castings, 3 angle valve job, comp cams double coil springs, aluminum, and search for flow numbers, 245 peak intake CFM, 190 exhaust) GM 847 cam, 1.6 rr. (2 bolt main)
I'm debating wether or not to pull these pistons out and use this engine for my next project, or just start on another engine. The main thing that scares me about these heads are that they have been milled .025 before.
I'm going to sell my camaro, and put a stock rebuilt engine back into the car, but I'm not sure if I'll use some these parts in another engine (rods, pistons, roller rockers,) or use this bottom end and heads (swap pistons) for my new project.
Give pro's and Con's on anything that you can think of about the LT-1's for forced induction over regular GM engines.
Oh yeah, turbo is around 80mm's. Thinking big!
