Just curious which one everyone preferred and why? I'll be running a 383 with a P-1SC @ about 8# to start and go up to 14#. Thanks

 

I run a small nitrous shot; it adds power 2 ways, increasing the amount of air/fuel mixture that can be burned and a cooling affect.

 

Another vote for N2O. I plan on running a 100 shot on mine once I get everything lined out with the boost. That way I don't have to go to bigger injectors and heads and such to get that extra 130 HP.

 

Another vote for spray. The cooling effect is amazing and instant and on my setup, the NO2 shots were about doubling power wise. Like a tiny 35 or so shot equaling about a 75 shot. I'm sure it was the cooling effect adding to that effect.

The concept behind both is totally different. One (Nitrous) makes more power due to extra Oxygen being injected into the stream, NOT the cooling effect. The other (Meth) makes more power by cooling the inlet charge and allowing more boost/timing to be used. Nitrous makes the combination directionally less conservative, while Methanol makes it directionally more conservative (safer). Don't believe me? Check EGT's with both. They go up on Nitrous and down on Methanol.

Cooling the inlet charge by injecting water, Meth, Eth, Nitrous, etc. . . does not add power by cooling in and of itself. The cooler air becomes more dense, but it is displaced by the cooling media. It doesn't work the same as an intercooler, where the air charge does actually get more dense.
