The SRP pistons are more ment for naturaly aspirated applications. I would step up to a JE. If your carefull and not running much boost you would be fine. But for an indestructable bottom end id run the JE. I run SRP pistons in my 800 hp NA big block chevy with no problems. Hope this helps, Eric L

I run them in my budget 350. Ran 7psi with the Vortech for about ~5 years. Run about 10psi with the turbo. I have seen 18psi a couple of times on accident.

I think material makes them more of a budget oriented piston for FI. If you can shell out a couple more bucks, might as well get a 2618. Small price to pay if you want to play.

Ive got the KB 2618's now but the problem is they dont make a shelf piston deeper than 18.6 dish, but the price tag was right. I paid 425 for them. I just got my setup together so they dont have any mileage on them so Ill have to let you know. They do have forced pin oilers but they're a step dish. I hung them on scat 4340 I beams, stock crank. I would imagne they're better than the srp's by material anyways, and about the same price. You might be able to get a custom dish but I would wonder about the price at that point. I hear JE is the **** for this game though, but for 800 bux I thought id try something different since Ill likely not see more than 15 psi on this setup.

I made sure to get JE blower pistons cuz thats not the place to save a couple hundred bucks, for a turbo'd motor anyway.

see, i blew up my mahle 2618's with nitrous. I have a guy that will trade me those pistons for my nitrous kit. I may have a buyer for the kit though, and if that works, i will buy some nicer pistons

I have srps in mine and have made over 600hp 700tq... That being said I did start getting a lot of blow by last week and have not tore it down yet. Guessing ring, ringland, or hole in piston.

$250 used pistons and I beat the snot out of them for 5k miles... Guess we will see.

Yeah, that sounds about like my original stock pistons, they were happy for awhile on 150 shot and 6 psi, then one day massive blowby, ring land melted down. Oops.

I didn't have very good luck with SRP's. I went through at least 3 sets before switching to Ross. They are noisier, but I haven't broken a single one.

x2...you can run $2k pistons and melt them if you aren't running the motor right. Any part will break once you try and walk the fine line with it..
