STS LT1 Turbo update

Here is an update for those interested. I have had the system on for about 5-6 months as a daily driver. I am running 3psi normally and have the high boost set at 7psi with methanol/water sequential injection. Tunning is next on my list!
stock hp was 273hp 303tq
dyno today at 7psi and saw 409hp and 447tq
This was running very rich mid band. No problems with the system since install.

That's 19.4rwhp/21rwtq per # of boost. Not too shabby!
I see you have "intake and exhaust" and pullies, but do you have headers, 1.6rr, stock cam? I *think* you do, but just checking.

With more tuning I'd like to see what you can pull (and the actual dyno graph would be cool too)

Mainly just to keep the STS haters at bay for that much longer
(I'm willing to admit the STS kit has it's downsides, but it's got a big pile of positives too)

But I remember the Project LT1 in one of the magazines that with catback, headers, 1.6rr and I think a Vortech (either 6 or 8psi) put out 390rhp So I'm wondering what you've got in store...

Keep us updated!

Basically everything is stock on the car besides the sig mods and an inline NOS fuel pump that is restricted by the stock regulator. Some tunning can be done with the meth/water system, but i am getting into some tunning software now.
Times aren't the best because of stock rear, and no sticky tires.

Yes, you are. You're missing the fact that he basically said the et is meaningless because he has no way to get a decent launch and therefore can't give you an accurate indication of what this kit is capable of. Make sense now? Or do you want him to give you a number so you can say, "See, I told you so. That kit is garbage. Look at the numbers is produces."? All while forgetting to notice his 60' time, and forgetting that he mentioned QUITE CLEARLY that he DID NOT launch well.

Anybody notice his last sentence? No problems with the system since install.
:crickets chirping:

Good numbers, Luke. I'm looking forward to what happens when you get it tuned. Keep us updated. I for one want to know because I'm looking forward to the same type of setup.

Are you going back to the track any time soon? I'd be curious to know what kind of trap speed you'd get at 7 psi? (maybe 8, 9 , do I hear 10?)

....i am all about this kit, and would have used it like i said before...but the fact that no fuel mods are done besides the meth kit and inline makes me fear for you...

409whp on stock 24#er's on an FI car is not going to cut it...i told you on the other board that those babies are going static months ago... if you want tuning though go to FasterProms.com the guy Jeremy has been wanting to do their tuning for their kits and just needs some people to work on their kitted cars with.

Do I hear peices of ring lands floating in the cylinder bores between the rings?

I'd be interested in getting some pressure data for the intake and exhaust. That would help with the cam design... a turbo cam would really ease some of the pressure differential.

If you add in the cost of 42# injectors, racetronix, and Blow off valve this kit gets up there in price. Some kits come with those in the complete kit.

It is interesting... and honestly I like the idea. But I'd like to see some more thermal insulation/ceramic coating on the exhaust (maybe even add a wrap). And for the price Rick is charging for what you get, a BOV wouldn't hurt him and he'd still get a profit.

If you're on the stock ignition, I'd get new plugs and an ignition box... especially if your approaching 450 rwhp with tuning.

Keep up the good work It makes for interesting discussions.

Yeah, that would be scary. I wouldn't really want him to do it. Just joking around.

since you quoted the flywheel numbers for stock.......im guessing you also quoted the flywheel numbers for the turbo kit.

about the same hp as a med-big cam on stock heads, but with more torque.

Those numbers are all dynojet rwh done on the same dyno. I am looking into injectors and tunning for when the $ comes around. Ignition would be another thing on the list. Most of the time the car is set at 3psi, which is still good for the duty cycle on the injectors.
Sneakin Deacon,
I was trying to get over to the west coast of fla to see Jeremy, but haven't made the time yet. For now looking into Tunnercat LT1 Edit.

I didn't think those numbers were stock flywheel... My car dynoed 273/304 stock with 90k miles. The auto numbers are always a lot lower due to drivetrain loss.
