sts update on the 93

just got a email from rick on the new dyno numbers on the 93 (i think) they ran the 500+rwhp number with.

The 93 Turbo Camaro went 600 rwhp and 723 rwtq at 12 psi today. Dyno graphs
will be posted on the site next week. Stock LT1 kit with GT67 turbo upgrade
and .96 A/R housing.

Later, Rick @ STS

now im not sure if the guy upgraded to a 383 yet or not. but thats pretty damn good.

as far as i know there still using the stock pcm, cam and fuel system, they are using a bigger turbo this time and still using there methanol injection kit. the shortblock they used lastime was a stock crank with the ls1 rods and 8.5:1 pistons with a .30 over bore. but i think rick was saying they were gonna go with a 383 this time, not 100% sure though.

dont go singing their praises just yet.
remember, this is the same company who quoted Gtech numbers as track times and dyno numbers in the past.

ill wait until i see a real dynojet scan, and a timeslip from a real track.

Talks cheap. Let's see some video's.

I'm actually kind of interested in the STS turbo kit. However, all these numbers I keep hearing about all sound too good to be true. I'm not saying it's all a hoax, but untill I see one of these car's on a dyno (whether it be in person or on video) I'm not going to take it too seriously. I need to see proof. WHERE ARE THE VIDEO'S

Doesn't this guy "Rick" realize that if he posted up some video clips of the car in action, it would silence a lot of STS's critic's? I can't stress how important it is to show us video's of the these car's on the dyo and out on the track (or street )

Funny thing is they always use the meth injection. Would love to see their IAT's without the meth injection....lol. Heck most of their power gain is coming from the meth.

if you read some of the articles in the news section it seems that people are starting to latch onto the whole concept. Even Dennis Meecham is using this now...

I heard the LS1 with the STS blew up.. I cant imagine this one is far behind.

BTW, dynos can be manipulated via computer to show a car putting out whatever it damn well pleases

Then show us a video of the car at the track.

Heeeyyy! Whats up with all this meth injection... Doesnt the long pipe that runs the lenght of the car cool the charge like an intercooler. Thats what it says on their FAQ page so it has to be true...

That would be an interesting experiment. Stick a meth injection kit on a stock car, and see how much you can tune it up. Has anyone ever tried this?

Hey, at least they are not using nitrous! I could just see it now "Our STS rear mounted turbo kit and a 150 shot of nitrous add over 150 rwhp...".

I just think if they put in a FMIC and ditched the meth and THEN put down some numbers, people might be more keen on thinking about this. As it is with no exhaust options you cant really effect the sound of the car, and then you really have to use methanol to gain anything. I like the unique idea and I support it -

But honestly for their base kit- $3595 which is the base base base...

Then I could be the "cheap ***** camaro driver" and shop around the forums...

SLP Loudmouth on a group buy $300
PTK Hot parts $1300
Wastegate off ebay $150
BOV off ebay $150
Turbo off ebay $600
intercooler off ebay $400
intercooler pipes ???
oil lines ???

So that gives me a decent turbo, and then $600 for oil lines and the intercooler pipes. I dont need the oil pump. I have an intercooler, I have a BOV - two things the STS lacks...

So now I've got a catback, probably a master power T70 turbo (not a garret T-70, but decent and better then the STS stock turbo) so more power, a better system, an intercooler...

And that's just the start.

I heard that when they tested the kit originally, they tried an intercooler but then the system wouldn't make any boost. That was one of the things that made me initially skeptical. I will admit though, that at least for low boost, it seems to be performing reasonably well.

It will always be the powerdyne of turbo's to me though!
