Supercharger tune. Who did it and how was it?

I just bought some 42's and need the tune next. I was wondering how good a mail order tune was for you and who did it? What kind of horsepower gains did you see and was there any issue with the cars idle or it running to rich? One of the tuners wants datalogs to tune a supercharged car and the other never even adds it to there order sheet so how close of a tune should i expect?

I got mail order tunes from Madz28 and PCMFORLESS and both of them were way too rich

I just got a tune from PCM4LESS, for my supercharger, and it seems to be pretty good, the owner before me also got a tune from PCM4LESS and his tune was dead on also. Good Luck

My bet is that was intentional. I saw the same thing on a buddies car, a mail order "get it running and broken in" tune was on the rich side, intentionally, to keep things safe before really trying to make some numbers.

Yeah - rich is intentional because nobody wants to be responsible for destroying your blower car. It really needs a dyno tune or careful street/track tune with a wideband.

I did it. Only took a day and a half on the chassis dyno!!! Lucky my buddy has one or that would have been a $2G bill.

PCM4LESS did mine ( Alvin - my car uses a chip). Initial tune was rich and there was slight stumble off idle. Sent him a data log and the retune was dead on!

I did it using a timing light and reading the spark plugs.

I was that buddy

Yeah, there are a lot of variables that usually can't be compensated for with a mail order tune, so its no wonder you might see a little rich conditions after getting one like I did to keep things on the safe side.

What you really need is to have it finely tuned on the dyno, or if you have the means and ability, you can do it on the street as well.

If you know all the tricks of the trade like Rich does, then you can get yourself a good street tune with all the right equipment. Personally I think Bryan from PCM's for less is probably the best FI LT1 tuner on earth, so if you don't have the means to do the tune yourself, I would get Bryan to give you a full dyno tune. If he knows you just need a mail order tune in order to drive it safely to him for the dyno tune, he'll cut you a deal on the mail order tune like he did me.

the supercharger kit for the impala ss i got reprogramed from powerdyne and it was the worst tune i ever seen. car would barely run with the af richer lan my lm1 could read. when it would go into closed loop the car would chug and buck and my fuel trim numbers would go to 60 and max out on right bank and go to180 and max out on right bank.... computer was very pissed off at me. after some very serious time with lt1 edit i fanally got it close and had exotic performance plus in indiana fine tune it. a mail order tune will get you close most of the time but they should start rich.
try pcmforless or madz28 heard they get them close off the bat

Bryan from PCMFORLESS did mine. Mail-order 396 FI tune. It has been good enough to break in the motor and daily drive on for almost half a year. It does, however, have too much timing in it across the board. So I'd make sure you have a way to watch for knock.

For a tune that was ment to get me to a dyno, it has gone above and beyond what I was expecting.
