Turbonator

Is this as retarded as it looks, or can you really get some hp out of it? I got into an argument with someone at the track the other night, and pretty much told him that you could get the same effect with a blow dryer.

you must be joking right!!!???

i'm...i'm....um....yeah....speachless...

i think you may get more performance out of the blow dryer than that thing!!!

they say "supercharge any car"...how exactly does a non moving unit create a supercharging affect.

Re: Turbonator

unfortunatly im not. there i was at the track with the hood up...and this yokel comes up to me and starts talking. i was curtious, and we got to talking about forced induction. is a supercharger or turbo better. then he brought up a turbonator. i had to turn around to keep from insulting him too bad. then when i told him it was not worth a cent...he started to argue. i ended it on..."well you might as well rig a blow dryer up. and if you really want some power...invest in a leaf blower"

i think i later saw him leaving in a mulit-collored neon. that explains alot.

Re: Turbonator

sometimes you just need to set them straight.

i bet he went home and researched how to put a leaf blower in his car.

watch out for him next week at the track...he'll have a boosted neon then!!

Re: Turbonator

Re: Turbonator

I recently read an aticle in Popular Mechanics (or Science... can't remember what) and they had an artical on some of the gas saving gadgets out there. They did before and after testing of power and mileage between several different gadgets like the magnets for the fuel line, Tornado, and some aqua mist thing. The test mule actually lost power with the tornado, and got less fuel mileage. Guess it turned out to be a restriction and not a help. FYI

Edit: Found a link to the artical, interesting reading! http://www.popularmechanics.com/auto...y/1802932.html

I wish I had this article around when people brag about their Tornado. My dad had a neighbor bragging about one in his Tornado in an SRT4, and almost had him sold on one for all his vehicles!! Print out the article and keep in your glovebox for imment arguments!! Tell them to prove Popular Mechanics wrong!!

Question Re: Turbonator

I have a bone to pick with administration. Why are they allowed to advertise on this site? I hope they pay a lot more than the other sponsors since they're really just selling snake oil. Shoot, they have one of the most visible ads, one of the first things you see on the left on the home page. WTF? ...why?

They have paid their fee so they have an equal right to advertise here. If people are stupid enough to buy their product here, than that is a different story.

Re: Turbonator

Speaking of admins, shouldn't this go in like the Lounge or something? Forced Induction Forum? Come on....
But if someone wants to pay their fee, by all means let them support this site and advertise. They probably should've searched the site themselves to see what kind of feedback people on here have given about their product. Oh well.

Re: Turbonator

"I purchased two Turbonators for my Chrysler Sebring and immediately noticed the increase in power. It was more than I expected. I am already noticing the improved gas mileage. I like them so much, I am ordering two more for my brothers. Now, it feels like my car has a turbo charger." - Dr. Brian Coyle (San Jose, CA)

What other proof do you need????
