Turbonetics or Precision turbo

I'm looking at both of these turbos in the t76 range. Just trying to get some oppions on either one. I'm going to make the purchase monday. Any advice would be great. They both have to be better than the pos MPt70 I got that's blowing oil.

Thanks GS355

Garrett GT42

Sure it's a little bigger, but you can't go wrong with a Garrett turbo.

I think a lot of guys on here swear by the Precision T-76 GTS though. Supposed to be a great all around turbo.

You might want to add what kind of vehicle it's going on and some details about the motor, as well as power goals and usage.

Jeremy

Edit: are you in J-ville NC or FL? If you're in NC come on down to wilmington this weekend and I will show you the GT42 I have for sale.

turbos?

The turbo of choice will be powering a 1995 TA. It has a gen 1 ptk , 383 with a little bit of laughing gas. The power goal is high 600rwhp on turbo. With the old MPt70, the car ran out of fuel @4200 rpms and made 576rwhp/676 tq. Now that we have the dual intanks installed, i'm ready to put down some decent numbers on turbo then spray it. hope that informs you a little about the car.

Oh yeah, Jacksonville FL

T88

Bigstyle , thats sounds good anyway, but I doubt I could use a t88 to its most potential. I think Jose told me the biggest I could get in my car was a T76 when I got my kit from him.

Over the years I have owned both brands of turbos with out any problems.

I would go with Precision. Harry and his employees have always taken very good care of me and my turbos over the years. He has always given me very good ECM support also.

I have had great luck with Precision Turbo. We are an authorized distributor for Precision Turbo. If you need help choosing the right turbo or you already know what your looking for and want a good price, shoot us a call at 219-769-0957. Our shop is 20 minutes away from Precision, so if they have it in stock, we run over, pick it up, and ship it out the same day.

I will throw this out there.... I have both a precision which treated me great until I destroyed it so for safety sake, I purchased a turbonetics T76MPS from Jose due to the unbeatable no questions asked 1 year warranty.. he said they will replace the turbo no matter what in that one year. on a side note.. if your considering buying a precision for a 383.. you should contact jose about the 80mm wheel upgrade in the 76 frame.. may be the best of both worlds for your 383 and especially since your gonna hit it with nitrous!

how long?

I've had the MPt70 for a little over year and half. But the car/ turbo kit can't have over 3-4k on it.

Either the Turbonetics 76MPS or the Precision 76GTS are huge upgrades over the MPT70. I really like my 76GTS and I think it will make more power than the MPS due to the larger exhaust wheel.

Did you run an oil restrictor on the MP 70 turbo?
