lol... Just got to love it...

The headers i got have thick 1/2" flanges on them, so the standard 7/8 or .750 long header bolt does not grab very many threads in the head at ALL. This is something i never thought about really before untill i pulled the threads out of one of the holes.

So I went to the local nuts and bolts warehouse place and had them find me some 3/8" 16 thread bolts that were 1-1/4 long and had the allen head (I shoulda got the normal hex head, but all the heads were too big).

I spent a STUPID amount of time getting the headers in the other day. What a complete pain pain the ***. And getting the header bolts tight with a allen and the routing of the primarys is hard as hell. With header bolts i could use a allen, socket, or end wrench. Now im very limited. I had to make a few tools to do it.

Im thinking about sellin the headers and building a new set with the primarys in a different positions. These headers are GREAT, just hard to get on. I have my car apart way to much to have them be that much of a pain Only other issue is if i build a new set of headers with a standard flange then the crossover wont fit as well (though with the flex it should still work).... Almost would need to make another kit.

What about using studs and nuts instead of bolts? That might solve your problem with access and length. Just thought i'd throw that out there.

I use ARP header studs with 12 pt nuts and can tell you that the clearance to get the header flanges on over the studs is almost non-existant. I had to shorten all of the studs to make them work. It is an absolute solid setup, though, and never loosens or leaks.

The studs MAY work... It's something i'll consider. It works for now. I dont have to worry about it again untill I take it all out.

Not sure if i'll sell or just modify... But here are pics

Torque 'till tight I found some 1" header bolts at my local auto-parts store that worked in my case.
