no of the exhaust shops round here have a pipe bending machine. so what did you guys do bout making a brad brand tube? did you buy mandrel bent tubing and bring it to the shop and have them weld them together?

An exhaust shop with no tube bender??? I can tell you what I'd do...I'd drive to another exhaust shop! I can't believe there's no decent shops near you though...you might try looking for a metal fabrication shop??
To answer your questions; I bought the real thing (Brad Brand tube) but I have read posts of people just buying various pre-bent tubing sections and chopping/welding as needed, so that should work just fine.
You could also buy straight plastic or metal pieces, then join them with clamps and silicone tubing, much like the stock pieces are done. These guys have lots of cool coupling pieces to start with: www.hightempsilicone.com

Re: Vortech tubing
I'd take it to a shop that specializes in aluminum, not an exhaust shop. You want real aluminum pipe for weight (plus it won't rust). Exhaust pipe is heavy and an exhaust shop bender will reduce the pipe diameter at the bends. A good shop will use mandrel bent aluminum pipe and tig weld everything together. It will be more expensive, but it's worth it in the end.

Re: Vortech tubing
i just have a shorter part of the dryer hose being used. used the plumbing from the vortech- the plastic pieces and made them alittle different. wish i could fine somewhere to get the plastic peices from who they use and maybe i could rig something up. plus it would be light weight. i had a company that my friend worked for that cut and welded up a alum tube for me to replace the vortech plastic tube where the BPV sits. but i don't talk to him anymore or know of the place he went too. the custom exhaust shop i brought that plastic piece to they said even with the shape it was they couldn't make anything out of metal. maybe they just didn't want to waste the time or something. they do make custom exhaust systems. where i live there isn't crap for custom things to have them made. hmm i do know a guy who might know of some places, i think he owns his own machine shop now that i think of it. you guys see any dyno proof with replacing the dryer hose to make this even worth it. any boost increase?

Re: Vortech tubing
here's my work on a 396 LS1 Vortech setup that we put a front mount in. We got 3" U/J combination bends in stainless steel (so we can polish it in the end) and some silicone tubing peices. Used two blowoff valves too. Put down 610rwhp with tiny a** headers ... we're upgrading the headers and going for more!

Re: Vortech tubing
Sorry for the delay, I tried to post during the transition and it doesn't look like it made it through.
Fabricating one off a few measurements or photos isn't realistic. These things fit in there so tightly that you have to do it on a jig or with the car in front of you...there's several odd bends and angles for everything. I wouldn't even know where to start to help you out. I could try to get some pictures...
