As far as that particular link goes, it's a crock of $hit... don't believe it. There's nothing out there that costs $70 that is more efficient than any turbo or supercharger.

For your 3.4L, there might be a supercharger kit available, but other than that, no legitimate company makes anything for you. You'd have to look into custom work being done.

I do believe tha it's more efficient. It doesn't move, therefore doesn't take any power to turn, thus making it more efficient than a turbo or supercharger. But then again when it comes to my engine the rock sitting on the side of the road is more efficient to "run" than a turbocharger. However, the gains from the device are much different.

All this thing does is get the air to move in a spinning motion. It promotes a better burn. I'm not sure what the max cfm in one of these is but I'm sure it's not all that great. If you were to put one on your car you might need a couple just to keep from causing a restriction in the intake.

Re: whats the best out there?

Dont buy a "turbonator" or a "spiralmax"...

And they arent efficient (aka loose power) because they physically provide a restriction to the air flow. You cannot change the direction of moving particles and gain efficiency, as when the air hits those blades it's going to have to change direction, giving heat to the tube and "turbonator" in added friction, and losses in kinetic energy. It takes energy to make power. You cannot instantly add some little thing and magically gain power.

Only possible gains are on a very few certain intake manifolds and putting this AFTER your throttle body. Before the throttle body - why? Soon as it hits the TB the spiral effect will be gone. Also dont forget our MAF sensor was designed to straighten airflow - this would disrupt that as well.

Besides, if there were any product for $40 or less that would even gain a car 1mpg without effecting emissions and being 50 state legal - the auto companies would have it at standard equipment.
