when tuning an LT1 w/ twin turbos..................

How much of the maps do I have to change on the LT1 edit? If I run the MAF, I shouldn't even have to touch any of the fuel maps right? The MAF should see the extra air flowing through right? I'm only gonna run 6psi but I need to know if it's even safe to go WOT. Basically, are the stock maps gonna even be close?

Depends on the actual airflow. If your not maxing out the MAF then you'll be fine.

I highly doubt that!

I did alot of tuning to the Power enrichment table before the MAF maxed, and even more after. As long as you have enough pump and injector the PE table will be pretty easy to get right, provided you have access to a wideband!

is that the only table you changed? Sounds simple enough. You didn't mess around with the timing tables? The PE tables are only a few #'s right? I don't have the edit program load at work so I can't see it right now. From what I can remember there are only like 10 points that can be changed ranging from like 1000rpm to 7000rpm. Is that the table?

Hey Bill, the PE table is only for WOT right? Did you do any tuning to the rest of the fuel tables? I know the PE table is important but part throttle tuning is a must for me as well

For WOT tuning w/ the fuel, yes the PE table is the only other fueling table I used. If you by some chance max out some of the values you can increase the % enrichment vs coolant temp to fatten it up as well. I also made the upper part of the MAF table read a max of 510gps, and then interpolated the table to make it a smooth curve up to that point. That will help throw a little more fuel at it when the MAF is maxed. The PE table (or the % enrichment vs rpm at WOT table in Tunercat which is what I use) is the table you are describing.

As long as your injector offsets and constants are right on, your part throttle driving will pretty much be taken care of by the MAF. My car drove like stock at part throttle, even with heads/cam/turbo. My MAF table is stock with the exception of the upper part previously mentioned. If your going to touch part throttle fuel, you'll need to start modifying the MAF table. VE tables will do nothing if your going to be using the MAF. They only come into play in speed density mode. Back before I knew about changing the injector offsets I was tuning the car with the MAF table pretty much by logging part throttle MAF readings and looking at the corresponding block learns. If it was rich or lean at a certain area or general area of the MAF I'd make changes to that area. I had very good success doing this. Just make sure that in the areas you change to make a gradual transition back to the other parts of the table. The car will run like crap if you make sudden large jumps in the MAF table.

thanks Bill, I guess I'm closer than I thought. So that's why not too many people go speed density. I never realized how accurate the MAF is until reading your reply. I'm going to take my car on the road here in a few weeks so I'll see how it runs
