Re: Where to find cobra head intakes?

I got a nitrile rubber one from innovative, or one of the big turbo shops, that I was planning on using for the intake of my procharger. Looked just like the ones listed above. The damn thing was so flimsy, I was sure it would collapse under suction, restricting air flow, so I sent that POS back. I'd consider one made out of a hard plastic, powerdyne has one with their LT1 kits. Best bet would be to fab something up like this for a tight bend: http://para.noid.org/~lj/1000hp/images/inlet3.jpg

mine is made of a really hard rubber. they do not collapse. We use them on our Syclones and Typhoons without any issues.

I run the 3" ones from the above link on my turbo inlets. They are quite rigid, pretty thick rubber.

Re: Where to find cobra head intakes?

I had a rubber 4" cobra head elbow and it collapsed on my, the car would pull like a ***** till about 5500 and then fall flat on it's face. Took me a bit to chase that one down but didn't take me long to throw that cobra head elbow in the trash. Should have known I didn't want anything that had the word "Cobra" in my Z/28

Good luck and GO PATS !!!!
