fuel issue

so i am having an issue with my car starting. i mistakeingly ran it out of gas the other day. i put a lil gas in it to make it to the gas station. it started right up. i started driving to the gas station. i made it about 100 yards past where i ran out of fuel and it started to spit and sputter. i tried to start it again and it wouldnt start so i thought my fuel pump went out. i checked the relay and luckily the relay was blown so i replaced it and it still will not start. i had a friend say something about priming the injectors and that its a pain. i have read a couple other threads on here and i was wondering if it could be my opti.

any help would be great, thanks

Re: fuel issue

The pump is cooled by the fuel, so it is entirely possible that you burned up the pump. A couple of things to try:
When you turn the key on, do you hear the pump start up for a few seconds and then turn off?
Get a fuel pressure gauge and install it on the schrader valve at the back of the fuel rail. You should get ~40 psi when you first turn the key on.
