The Sinclair station in Moore (12th street and Broadway) has 93 octane and they are open until 5:00 pm week days, also Saturdays. the 93 is not as good as 101, but better than running 91.

You can buy leaded and unleaded racing fuels in various size containers from VP Fuels and Sunoco, ranging from 5 gal - 55 gal. Beats driving an hour to a gas station. I buy C16 in a 30-gallon drum and Air Race in a 5 gallon bucket.

Warren, aside from the octane rating, just how good is Sinclair as far as detergents and cleaners? I've used it a few times and it seems to be pretty decent. I've noticed about 4-5 degrees of knock from the 91 that the sell around here in Norman so looks like I'll be going back to the 93 from Sinclair.

None of this is true.

Higher octane means it will not combust as readily. It takes more heat/compression to ignite it.

It is not a higher grade and it is not cleaner. What you are paying extra for are the additives to make it not ignite as easily.

It does not burn hotter, just takes more to get it started burning. Where any extra power comes from is the ability to increased compression or advanced timing further.

It doesn't even burn cleaner. If you don't really need higher octane then your car will actually be a bit dirtier as far as smog is related.

I watched a show on bbc America where they tested octane from 93 to 103 on several different brands most there was no difference except one brand at 103 gave 12 more HP all test were done on the same engine on the same test stand

You guys in OKC are lucky. I don't think there is a single station in Tulsa that offers anything other than 91 (in terms of high octane).

But we have 4 million Quiktrips...
