1997 Stock 1/4 mile time (official)

Does anyone know where i can get the stock quarter mile time for a stock 97 Z28, an official one? This is the the one with 285 hp, unlike the years before.

Re: 1997 Stock 1/4 mile time (official)

My buddy ran a 13.8 @ 100 mph with his 100% bone stock '97 Z28 (M6) about 3 weeks ago. His car has just over ~60k on it, and still has all the original plugs, wires, tires! (very balding!) and nothing has been changed (cai, catback ) except for the addition of a B&M "ripper" shifter. Another friend ran a 13.9 with his '95 Z28 (A4), but it's been lightly modded (cai, 3.73 gears, Borla cat-back).

I don't know if these are typical #'s for LT1's or not? My other friend only ran 14.59 @ 96 mph with his '96 T/A (A4, 3.42's).

A-4s go about 14.5 bone stock with 2.73's, and probably a few tenths faster with the 3.32 option.

Average car will run about 14.2.

GM never really posted official numbers. Those you would get from car magazines, and they would very greatly due to driver altitude etc. I figure there is at least a half second or more between a 2.73 A4 car and a 3.42 M6 car.

there is no official number, you have weather, track prep (traction), driver skills, and other variables, so it all depends. I would say totally stock you would run low 14's and if you get lucky then maybe 13.9, but it took me cai and a cutout as well as a little weight reduction to get a 13.9.
