1997 Z28 front driver side turn signal doesn't blink
I have a 1997 Z28 camaro and the front driver side turn signal will not blink. No other problems with lights and have checked all of them for corrosion or bad wiring. I replaced the socket for the turn signal light but this did not seem to help. The running light will work fine (the lower filament that connects black to brown wires). The higher filament is intact but will not light up. Tested the light blue wire that connects to the black (live wire) through this socket and it doesn't seem to be getting enough current. I used a volt meter and ran the turn signal to get a measly .2 V. I can't seem to find anything about this or how to fix it so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

You'd better look at your wiring diagrams. You have two relays(flashers) one for the blinkers and one for the hazards. If your turn signal worked after you changed the flasher it was because you got lucky. There was probably a wiring problem.

Re: 1997 Z28 front driver side turn signal doesn't blink
I know this is a really old post, but I found a fix that might work for some people. I have a 1997 Z28 Camaro. My blinkers would work intermittently the front blinkers would just go dark when i would try to signal. The back would just go solid. I FINALLY found something that worked.... (mostly) There is a little silver canister under the dash, to the right of the OBD II Sensor. This is a relay of sorts. I think it is called a relay flasher. I picked my new one up at a dealership for $15. It only took a Phillips, 7mm Socket, and pliers. Once the new one was put in my blinkers finally started to blink again. I still have the front ones, that sometimes will just go dark and not blink. I'm going to check and replace the sockets for the front blinkers and see if that fixes the rest of my issue. I hope this helps people fix these problems that plague 97's. I have heard that the Daytime Running Lights may also have something to do with these issues. I have found info on disabling your DRL's on just about any Chevy. I will post links to these sites when I can get back on my laptop.
