I have own a 2000 convertible SS and was wondering why this is the only SS that I have seen with the grill color the same as the body (grill is stamped 'camaro') Do you think that this is the grill the car originally came with? Also, what determined if the car was to come with the 'camaro SS' dash plaque?

My car is a WU8 SS package c/w SLP mods but has the regular 'camaro' plaque

sounds like someone pulled off the front SS grill. the plastic fender has the "camaro" stamped in it and is the color of the body. alot of guys do that on the camaros saying it looks better. never seen anyone do it on an SS

As I recall, the "SS" logo on the front grill area was an option. I didn't get it, ended up with the plastic insert embossed with "Camaro". There were several interior options, too. Didn't get them either.
