5w30 or 10w30 for Ohio?

I am about to go buy some Mobil 1 synthetic for my new TA. Should I get 5 or 10 w30 for Ohio? What do you north eastern guys use?

Search for posts by patman. The new Castrol is showing much better wear numbers in the LT1 cars than Mobil 1.

I run 5qts 10-30 M1 and a half qt of 15-50 M1 and the car drinks that pretty well so i'm not going to try 5-30 unless I want to add oil every 1000mi and now my piston slap is clacking all the time even at full temp, so that may contribute to my car having a thirst for oil

0w-30 Castrol Syntec, Full Synthetic. It says "Made in Germany" on the back. Couple it with a K&N 3002 Filter. Like mentioned above, search for posts by Patman. Lots of info in those threads.

Only place to get it is at Autozone, and I had to ask if they had it because the two stores I went to didn't have it on shelves. The second store had 21 bottles in the back...

ill reconfirm the 5w30 year round with no issues. I dunno about that crazy mix stuff, unless you have piston slap. Then I could see it.

although only a v6, i use 10w30 from about spring-late fall then i switch to 5w30 in the winter
i think it helps keep the oil from being too slick in the summer and it can still work decent in the winter with 5w30
i'm an old fashioned guy though and go with what is proven to work time and again, and i use castrol conventional oil

5-30 all year, 0-30 for events, dynos, etc, no probs either way. I really cant see a need for 10-30 anymore with synthetic (mid-west).
