89 20th Ann. Indy Pace car with 11 miles, WIW??

Hey folks, good evening, hope everyone is doing well. Here is my question tonight!!

A buddy of mine turned me on to his buddy that his dad just died. In his estate is a 1989 Turbo Trans Am 20th Anniversary Indy Pace Car Edition that his dad bought (along with a few other cool cars). The catch to this car is that his dad bought it and drove it to his garage, put it on stands, and never drove it again. It has 11, yes eleven miles on it. Paper floor mats, window sticker, etc. etc. Now, I have never even come close to dealing with items like this, whats it worth? I purchased the car for 8k, thinking cool, what a deal on a low miler, but, then my wheeels started turning about "what could be" !! Thanks everyone, have a great night, I look forward to hearing from you all!!!

Buck Taylor

ps. it now has 36 miles on it....heeeheeeheeee

Tough call, if you like it enough I guess follow his lead and put it back up on stands, but as a weekend cruiser I still wouldnt see the harm as long as its well maintained. But how about some pics?

I'm purely thinkin about makin a few bucks here. I can drive a million low mile T/A's, but does someone have an interest in one with 11 miles? I'll post a few pics tomorrow when it's light again!! beautiful white car though!

Call an appraiser and see. I'm sure it's worth some cash since the turbo TA's were in limited number. Not to mention the low low miles on it. My guess is it would start nickle and diming you if you used it as a weekend cruiser. So it would probably be best to sell it. I bet all the hoses and most of the seals are probably cracked or atleast aged from lack of use. 15 years of sitting will do that to a lot of stuff on a vehicle.

Not sure about buy of the century, but sounds like I can make some decent money and have everyone walk away with a smile. I checked ebay, but nothing even close to that mileage. Pontiac Registry?

If you found some sort of collector, you might could pull down a good profit.

LOL are you crazy? Those cars, with 50k miles and up, STILL go for $10,000 and up. No telling what you could pull if you found the right collector. Have you tried getting ahold to somebody at a car museum. 11 miles...that's insane. Lowest miles I've seen on a ThirdGen was 600 or so on this dude's IROC. Pretty crazy.

Don't drive it... if it's been sitting around like that it will develp issues real quick after a few drives..

If you have room I'd save it for another 20 years. Then it will most likely be worth mega bucks.

Re: 89 20th Ann. Indy Pace car with 11 miles, WIW??

I once bought a '78 corvette pace car with 23 miles on it. Same situation, guy bought it, drove it home, and covered it in his garage. We got to talking one day in my driveway about my car while he was walkin his dog and said he'd give it up to make room for his other cars (been in his garage for 25 years). I bought it for $5000 the same day and turned around and sold it for $10,500 to a collector. Probably could have gotten more but I didn't really want it either, just a turn-around seller to make a quick buck.
