95 Z28 Repair or Replace?

95 Z28 Repair or Replace?
I have a 95 z28 that was involved in an accident. The rear passenger quarter panel was bashed in pretty good and the front end was smashed in a bit. But it still runs and drives straight. How should i go about fixing the quarter panel and the front frame? I only paid $1700 for this car with 153,000 miles. I really love it but if its too much to fix ill just buy another z28.

I did almost the exact same car a few years back, but with far less damage. The quarter takes alot of time to replace properly, and your front frame horns are surely bent, given the state of the front bumper reinforcement. It would cost twice what the car's worth to even put it back to original condition, and then you'd have a 150k mile Z28 that still needs an entire mechanical overhaul. Personally, I like bringing these cars back from the dead, but I have the skill set and background to do it. If you want the satisfaction and learning experience of fixing it, I say go for it. Honestly, though, a job like that is not for a first-timer, and you'll be pouring money into something with absolutely no resale value. Either way, good luck!

Agreed. TONS of work to repair that. My vote is to keep your eyes out for a roller that you can score for cheap. If you have the mechanical ability to even consider repairing that car, swapping everything over to a roller would definitely be doable. Then you can sell off all of the left overs, and probably be close to even, if not ahead of the game. Sorry that had to happen to ya.

Re: 95 Z28 Repair or Replace?
thanks for everyones reply, i dont really want to fix it i just want the radiator support pulled out a lil bit so i have at least enuff space to put my intake on properly, right now its rigged up so that i cant close the hood all the way. As for the quarter panel i would like to know if its easier to cut one out from another camaro or to buy a replacement one from GM parts. I dont know how to weld so i would let a body shop weld me on a new one. Ill probably just buy another camaro and keep this one for parts or try to sell it off.

I could really use some parts off that car depending on the colour of the interior??? I got a 94 Z-28 and the dashboard is crack and could use some other minor parts like ashtray,,plus holder and other little things...get back to me if you want to part off of this stuff off...you can email me at gsxr750_02@hotmail.com

Honestly, if you are asking how to go about fixing this amount of damage, you have no business trying to do it yourself. Given the amount of money a body shop would charge (and age of the car), it would likely be considered a total loss for insurance purposes. There could be a lot of unseen unibody damage.

I agree with the post above. Buy another car that needs a new engine or trans and switch the parts over. A few months ago there was a 95 on ebay about 30 miles from me that was in really good shape but needed a new engine for $1500.
