98 z28 question

I have a 98 z28 with a 01 formula engine and harness in it. I am assuming of course that everything should be the same. The car runs fine, but the gauges are all not working correctly. When the car is running the seat belt lights and information lights all work, the mileage does not work either do the gauges for fuel, volts, speedo, ect. But if I hook my scanner up to the DTC port, the mileage reads fine, and the volt meter works, but the speedo and tach does not work. On the scanner I can read all of the information and speed but it does not go to the gauge cluster. I am kind of lost on this one. Thanks, Paul

All i can tell you is that that the 98 gauge cluster is not the same as the newer ones. The 98 was the last year for the real working temp gauges for one thing. If you have all the wiring from the 01 then you need to buy the cluster from 2000 and up, the 99 may work but I know the 2000 up will for sure

Well there is only one thing that I can find that I do not know where it goes. On the passenger side where your right foot would be, there is a white plug, it has 8 pins 2x4, and has two grey, blue, green, and purple wires coming from it, can anyone tell me what this plug is for/ does? Thanks, Paul
