replaced my radiator a few months ago and decided to put a new cap on (the old one was nearly 12 years old but still worked). with the new cap i only get flow back from the reservoir after the engine has cooled about half the time. i put the old cap back and it works fine 100% of the time. i'd rather have a new cap though since the old one has so much wear. the seals look different on the new cap and i'm thinking its not keeping pressure like it should. the new cap # is - 10316828. it looks a little different from the old cap and its made in india! i guess i could have just hit back luck and have a dud. does anyone know if the old caps are still available to purchase from anyone? thanks

 

Did you get the replacement cap at a dealership?

Try one from Autozone and see if you have the same problems....

 

yeah, its from the dealership. i think i will try a stant or other aftermarket cap. however, i keep hearing that they hold no where close to 18psi. i'll give it a shot tho, thanks!
