ACCEL Shorty Header Plugs

Has anyone used these before and if you have what has been your experience with them? I was thinking of getting these for some extra clearance between my plug boots and longtube headers.

I have box of them, I used a couple of them. They seemed to work well, they are short like a chainsaw plug. It definately gives more room from the primaries to the wire

Yeah there designed to work better with headers. What I really want to know is if they perform well also, if they don't run well I'd rather get NGK TR55's.

They would certainly make it easier with long tubes. I have a lot of wrenches and extensions, but on one of the plugs I tightened it by freiking hand because I could not get a wrench on it.

Try SLP's cut down plug socket, tightened with a shorty combo wrench. No spark plug can resist

Re: ACCEL Shorty Header Plugs

I had Dynatech headers on my '96 Z28 and had to use the accell shorty plugs. They are expensive at $12.95 per plug, but they are double platinum tipped and provide the same performance as a stock plug.

Re: ACCEL Shorty Header Plugs

The shorty's I bought are the double platinum version with stock heat range and .050 gap. I bought them through summit racing. I know you can get a non-platinum accell for a LOT cheaper, but I didn't want to change plugs for while again on my daily driver.
