If something is going wrong you would just need to get a new limited slip.

Do a small burnout, if you see one tread mark, then your posi is bad.

The gear oil change won't do anything for a broken posi, but it will help stop from a broken read end.

Re: bad posi/ which tire spins more

sounds like your posi is working backwards
your inner tire is always spinning less as the outer tire has more ground to travel=spin more, etc.
can't help ya but it does sound like something is wrong
just make it a drag only car and you shouldnt have a problem though

I don't think you have much of (if any) problem. Why do you even care if it leaves even black marks going around a corner? The inside tire is always going to lose traction first, because the posi is trying to make it spin as fast as the outside tire. That's what you feel when turning a sharp corner under a little power.

good point
how much does the stock posi give power to one wheel?
i thought the zexel could do 100% to one wheel right? (which is on the 96-97 ss's as an option and standard on some ls1s iirc)
i'm just wondering what the stock one can balance out at like 80%/20% or whatever
just curious

This is almost impossible to quantify on the street or track, unless you go to a skid pad with instrumentation and run in both directions.
The 80/20%, is good for most types of posi's.

yea, i wasn't looking for exact, just something that they might have advertised
i was leaning toward it being 80/20 though, thanks for the answer
